Take a gander at this article from the ajc, entitled “Gas to save your soul? Church has offer for you.“
First Baptist of Snellville is giving away two 500 dollar gas gift cards to folk who either attend sunday service or go to their revival, and a teenager is even going to get a car. Maybe the church realized its in Snellville, and needd some way to get people to make the hike out there.
This just seems sleazy to me. It’s like something my company would do to get new clients in the door and fleece them blind. Shouldn’t church be different?

I recall that huge church being smack in the middle of Atlanta suburban sprawl. Across from a Dairy Queen even.
Sucks to be them. Sucks more if you’re in a double-vowelled religious movement that’s just as invested in suburban development, but lacking the cash to bribe its members.

Still not as inciting as that Baptist church that was raffling off a gun to get youth to attend a conference.
